Free educator resources from NCpedia, the encyclopedia of all things North Carolina. Includes lesson plans, activities, printable
bookmarks, NC "Fast Facts," and ways to incorporate NCpedia into the curriculum. Also listservs, booklists, and programming
information from the Youth Services Consultant in the SLNC Library Development Section.
State Archives of North Carolina
The Division of Archives and Records has a vast collection of primary resource materials which can be used in education, including
diaries, maps, letters, memoirs, photographs, and government records. Many of these materials are available through our online
resources and can be aligned to national and state teaching standards.
North Carolina Aquariums
Explore Fort Fisher's climate change curriculum, as well as lesson plans, instructor's guides, and other resources about sea turtles.
NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences
Includes resources for teachers and students at all levels, from activity pages and coloring sheets to information about NC's top

- The North Carolina Court System
Lessons, Activities and Educational Programs (LEAP) About the North Carolina Judicial System for Teachers has been created by the Community Access and Outreach division to assist teachers in educating students about the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County court system. Each lesson plan specifies a corresponding competency goal or objective as determined by the North Carolina State Board of Education. These resources have primarily been focused to those students taking the courses tenth grade Civics and Economics and Contemporary Law and Justice.

Includes resources, lesson plans, and more in a range of disciplines, including dance, drama, English language arts, history, math, physical education, science, social studies, STEM, technology, visual arts, and world languages. Lesson plans include assessments, resources, related content, and information about the work of art.

Includes a variety of offerings structured to provide students with meaningful experiences in North Carolina history that are directly linked to the North Carolina Common Core and Essential Standards, and a quarterly newsletter specifically geared toward educators.

Environmental education learning experiences (EELEs) are correlated to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Competency goals in science, social studies, mathematics and English/language arts are explored. Each program includes pre-visit, on-site and post-visit student activities that have measurable objectives, background information, vocabulary, references and step-by-step activity instructions.

- Green 'N' Growing: The History of Home Demonstration and 4-H Youth Development in North Carolina
The site presents thousands of images and textual materials that document the history of 4-H and Home Demonstration in North Carolina from the 1900s to the 1970s. Users will also find a timeline of events, a collection of original historical essays, an annotated bibliography, and guides for primary resources held by the North Carolina State University Special Collections Research Center.

Includes learning guides focusing on a particular topic and time period relating to North Carolina. In each guide are the grade level they are intended to be used for and the Common Core standards it matches with. Also includes lesson plans developed in partnership with the College of Education and NCSU Libraries. They include primary resources, background information, classroom activities, and links to the Common Core.
