Tabbs Creekrises in E Granville County and flows SE across SW Vance County into Tar River on the Vance-Franklin county line. Appears on the Collet map, 1770, as Tans Creek, probably as an engraver's error. For a time prior to 1764, the Granville County Courthouse was located on Tabbs Creek. Tabb's Creek District had 57 heads of families at the time of the 1790 census.
