Young boys carry bamboo poles with soldier figures at Independence Day parade

Young boys carry bamboo poles mounted with soldier figures at Independence Day parade. The boy in front, who wears a red elementary school T-shirt, holds up a float showing an Indonesian revolutionary fighter. The constructed figure has long dark hair, a moustache, and red decorations on his uniform. Another float figure in back is throwing a rock, presumably at the Dutch who resisted Indonesians' demands for Independence on August 17, 1945.
