Description: This monument is a tall stone obelisk atop a thicker ornately-carved base.

Dedication date: 1870

Materials & Techniques: Granite

Sponsor: Ladies Memorial Association

Unveiling & Dedication: Matt Ransom gave an address at the 1870 dedication.

Post dedication use: The site continues to serve as a site for Confederate Memorial Services each Memorial Day.

Landscape: The monument is located in the middle of the Confederate section of the Historic Oakwood Cemetery. It is surrounded by smaller graves.
